For Teachers and Students alike

I found this teacher that recorded his classes and posted them all in quicktime videos on this page:Chalk and Talk

His explanations are pretty much like mine, and I must admit I felt really tempted to do the same thing. What do you say people? Should I record some of my activities and grammar explanations?

Do you know what is a WebQuest?

WebQuests are a new way of dealing with project work. Also, they offer a great opportunity for integrating skills through the Web!!! I love them and have used and made some with a fair success. You can get more information here:
WebQuest ORG
Also, there is a sample webquest here:
Film maker WebQuest

Remember WebQuests can be about anything, and that you can find them for free online. There are great Brazilian Quests, but of course they are in Portuguese. WebQuests were primarily made for schools and not directly for language teaching. However, that can be used to our advantage because the integrated skills help make the class memorable.

There are ways of downloading videos from Youtube.

If you (like me) use Mozila Firefox, then it's a lot simpler:
Go to the Plugins page and install any of the following:

I myself use UnPlug

WAR OF THE WORLDS

War of the Worlds was a book written by H. G. Wells (considered by many father of the Sci-Fi genre) and lather made into radio soap opera and two hollywood movies. However, it was another Welles that made this story really famous, one Orson Welles. Mr. Welles worked on a radio program called the Mecury Theatre on the Air.
On October 30 1938 he aired a special show to spook everyone, and little did he know the wild repercussion of that. He presented a version of H.G Wells book in the radio that was so realistic that people were reported to have commited suicide, suffered heart attacks and cause panic to the general public.
This is one of my favorite stories of how pop culture can influence people. So I got a download of the original show in MP3. Best of all, it's really free!!!
